In Like A Lamb… Out Like A Lion

0_blog_entry326_1Well as hard as it is to believe this month of March is nearly gone. It was nice to enjoy those 80 degree temperatures a few weeks ago. We knew that it wouldn’t last so we took advantage of it while we could. Now as the month comes to a close we are paying the price with winter like temperatures and dreary, rainy days. It can only stay like this for so long though. Spring has to come sometime. Friday night I went with Lauren to her school’s auction. It is a big fund raiser event they do every year at the Hilton in town. The teachers offer up their services for auction and the parents come in to bid on them. Most are silent auctions but as the evening progresses past 9PM the live auctions begin on some of the big ticket items. Lets just say this is a private school with tuition required for every student so these parents make a pretty good living. Many of them did not have a problem parting with some of it that night. Lauren auctioned off her photography skills in the form of one personal photo shoot of family portraits. That is her hobby on the side which she is very talented at. I can’t say the same for myself. Im a point and shoot man myself and just hope the pics turn out OK.

0_blog_entry326_2Dad and Kim also came down to visit this weekend for a couple days. Fortunately all of our schedules were pretty well clear so we could hang out together most of the weekend. Hanging out is really what we did too since the weather wasn’t great. We spent a lot of time eating out at different restaurants around town and fixing meals at Heather’s house. In between all of this we mostly watched tv/movies and chit chatted about the latest happenings. It was a really nice, relaxing weekend which was a welcome change of pace for me after the past few hectic weeks I have been dealing with at work. All of us also went to the movies to see a matinee of “V For Vendetta”. This is a movie that may not have gotten a lot of attention from the press because of its subject matter. I won’t go into all the details here but I really enjoyed the movie and everyone else seemed to like it also. I would sum it up as a thinking man’s horror movie. You can read my full review Here On IMDB. “Remember, remember the 5th of November!”
